“TPS – Teacher. Preacher. Servant.”

Dr. Tommy P. Smith, affectionately known as “TPS,” faithfully serves as the Pastor of Divine Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. A Georgia native and proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Dr. Smith dedicated over 24 years to military service before continuing his calling as an AFJROTC instructor and youth mentor in Chesapeake public schools.

Known for his powerful teaching, passionate preaching, and humble service, Dr. Smith operates under the calling of Isaiah 6:8

—"Here am I; send me.” He has earned numerous degrees, including a Doctor of Strategic Leadership from Regent University, and has delivered the Gospel around the world, even in places where faith is not freely expressed.

As a lifelong learner and the author of Servant Leadership: A Paradoxical Truth, Dr. Smith reaches all generations with a message of unity and hope. Whether in the pulpit, classroom, or community, he lives out his mission to Teach. Preach. Serve. Impact the World.

He is happily married to First Lady Brenda Smith, and they are blessed with a daughter, Shannon, a proud U.S. Air Force veteran.
